Plaque Mounting: Mounting & Laminating Your Posters, Prints, Photos, Or Artworks

Plaque Mounting, also known as Plak mounting, is an inexpensive yet extremely durable way to protect and hang your poster, print, photo, or artwork. The print is dry-mounted onto a sturdy, custom piece of high density pressed wood, then permanently sealed with a clear vinyl matte UV-blocking laminate. The edges of the plaque are then bevelled and coloured. A slot in the back allows for easy hanging on the wall.

With plaque mounting, no framing is required, and there is no glass to break or to produce a glare. The end result is a very durable, eye-catching, easy to clean display solution. Your print will be protected against moisture, UV light, smudges and scratches. The 3/8" wood fibre backing is lightweight, yet durable—perfect for mobile display panels, or prints displayed in high-activity areas.

Edge colors: White, Black, Gold, Cream, Grey, Blue, Green, Red, Brown and Silver.

     Plaque Mounting Styles:
Standard Plaque Mount Standard/Flat Plaque Mount: First your poster, print, photo, or artwork is dry mounted onto a 3/8" wood fiberboard that is cut to size. A thin matte or glossy plastic laminate sheet is then applied to the surface and heat sealed. The edges of the plaque are beveled at a 45-degree angle and treated with one of the many colours available. Finally, the plaque is routed on the back, ready to be hung. Float Mount Float Mount: Artwork is measured, then mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight 1/4" wood-fiber backing. A 1" molding is adhered to the back and inset two inches all around. This technique causes the print to float on the wall - an ideal affect for recessed walls or niches. A 45-degree bevel and choice of trim colour are then applied to the edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging.
Box / Flush Mount Box / Flush Mount: Artwork is measured, then mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight 1/4" wood-fibre backing. A 1" molding is adhered to the back and placed flush with the edge of the wood to create a clean, contemporary look. A 45-degree bevel and choice of trim colour are then applied to the edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging. Matted Plaque Matted Plaque: The image is mounted to a coloured matboard, placing a border around the image. The standard border is 1-1/2" but any width can be requested. The image and mat are laminated. The edges are beveled and finished in a variety of colours.
Combo / Raised Mount Combo / Raised Mount: The image is mounted to 1/8" hardboard and laminated. The edges are beveled and finished in a variety of colours. A coloured mat of your choice is mounted and laminated to 3/8" MDF. The image board is mounted to the backing board with an 1/8" separation. All five Plaque Mounting Styles side by side with white colored beveled edges.
